Lent Day 4

Good Evening!

Today our Scripture readings are John 1:14 and Psalm 46.

Yep, we're going the route of Mr. Rogers! We read that Jesus came to dwell among us, as our neighbor and that God is our refuge, "a very present help in trouble". We are asked to reflect on the question: When has God been a very present help in your life?

I immediately think of the numerous times that things "I" wanted didn't happen. In retrospect, so many of these things would have turned into very real trouble had they happened. I am able to praise God for being that very present help in my life time and time again. Specifically, I wanted to move to sales in a previous job, but did not get the promotion. Two weeks later, there were lay offs, several people who got promoted ended up layed off or moved into roles that resulted in them leaving the company altogether.

What about you? How has God shown up to help you in your life?

Blessings,

Pastor Jesse
