Lent Day 37

Good morning church people!

Today, we are reading John 13:1-20.

You know, I don't mind my feet. Touching my wife's and kids' feet don't really bother me either. But, the idea of touching someone else's feet kind of creeps me out! You never know how someone cares for their feet because they are most often hidden inside their shoes. Some people even have a phobia of feet:  podophobia.

Jesus doesn't fear any part of us, no matter how unkempt we may be. No act of love is too humble for Jesus, even washing feet, willingly going to the cross, and giving up his life. We are called to walk in His steps with love and a heart of service.

How would you respond if Jesus offered to wash your feet?

I would certainly be uneasy at first, but I'm not going to lie when I say one of my favorite parts of getting a massage is my feet! There are other parts of my life, though, that I'd be more hesitant about letting Jesus wash! How about you? Are you okay with the feet washing, but have some other area of life you want to keep hidden from Jesus and others?

Blessings,

Pastor Jesse
