Lent Day 14

Good morning!

Today, our Scripture readings are Psalm 86:11 and Proverbs 3:1-8.

The metaphor provided is one of a father being close at hand when his toddler is learning to walk, directing the child away from danger. I struggle with this metaphor, as we go through many dangers in this life and your experiences, growths, and transformation in life often come out of the dangers and troubles of life. I will agree with the latter part of the metaphor that says the heavenly Father is always close at hand. We are never alone, no matter the circumstances of our life. God does not promise us an easy life without troubles or difficulties, but he does promise to be with us always! When we focus on learning His way, we will find the path of righteousness, which we know he lights for us!

We are asked to write a prayer of praise and thanksgiving to God for always walking with us.

Heavenly Father, I praise and give thanks to you. I give thanks that you sent us your Son, Jesus Christ to teach me the way to unite my heart with yours. I praise Your name for giving me all I need to learn to walk in the steps of your Son, Jesus Christ. Lord, help me to remain faithful to your teaching in all I do. Amen.
